Becoming a mother brings changes to your sense of self, your relationships, your responsibilities and your use of time. These workshops use arts-based education methods to explore motherhood from different perspectives.

Exploring Mothering Workshops

Questions that come with motherhood have no universal right answers. We each have access to our own sense of what is right for us, our children, and our families. These workshops provide time, space and tools to explore your experiences as a mother. You will have time to meet other moms and share your experiences. You’ll have fun learning about yourself and your journey as a mother.

Goals

The length of each workshop is 2 hours including an icebreaker, and individual and group activities. There is always time for discussion with other mothers during the workshop. The creative activities do not require any specific talents or skills.

Workshop Format

Comments from workshop participants:

Workshop Topics

These workshops are intended for mothers, particularly mothers who are interested in exploring the experience of motherhood.  The workshops, What Makes a Mother? and Baby Books for Busy Moms are also suitable for mothers-to-be.

Mothers will get maximum benefit from workshops if they can give them their full attention. Taking time for oneself is particularly important when exploring the changes that mothering brings. Your attendance at a workshop provides an opportunity for dads, grandparents and other family members to spend time with your child or children. Exceptions can be made for very young babies who need to be fed frequently.
